If you haven’t planned a summer trip yet, why not do something different a head to a festival? This year, there are plenty of great August festivals in the U.S. for you to check out. Here are a few favorites from our Newark Airport parking company:
Lollapalooza
Where: Chicago, Illinois
When: August 3-6, 2017
Every year in Chicago’s Grant Park, thousands gather for a four-day music festival that features alternative rock, heavy metal, hip hop, punk rock, and EDM bands and artists as well as dance and comedy performances. The American Folk Festival
Where: Bangor, Maine
When: August 25-27, 2017
New England is full of rich heritage and each year, it’s celebrated at the American Folk Festival in Maine. Visitors can enjoy musical performances, dancing, crafts, performing arts, food, and other cultural celebrations over a three-day weekend. Burning Man
Where: Black Rock City, Nevada
When: August 27-September 4, 2017
For a taste of something truly different, head to a festival that’s described as “an experiment in community and art” and influenced by principles like radical inclusion, self-reliance, self-expression, and more. Every year, Burning Man brings in more than 70,000 people from all over to enjoy a variety of musicians, artists, theme camps, and villages. For more information, click here.
Sturgis Motorcycle Rally
Where: Sturgis, South Dakota
When: August 4-13, 2017
This festival is the oldest and largest motorcycle event in the country, and thousands of motorcycle enthusiasts flock to the city every year. For 10 days, these aficionados take part in a beard and mustache contest, tattoo contest, pub crawl, street food throw down, concerts, and of course – motorcycle racing. Lobster Festival
Where: Rockland, Maine
When: August 2-6, 2017
If you’re a seafood lover, there’s no better August festival to attend than the Lobster Festival in Maine. For five days, visitors can discover lobster prepared tons of different ways as well as mussels, shrimp, scallops, clams, and a variety of fish. Outside Lands
Where: San Francisco, California
When: August 11-13, 2017
This year marks the 10th anniversary of Outside Lands, a music festival that also celebrates music, food, wine, beer, art and comedy. Located in Golden Gate Park, the festival draws in around 50,000 people per day who enjoy the beautiful bay scenery while they listen to more than 70 musical artists.
