The Beaches
If a beach vacation is what you’re looking for, Australia offers thousands upon thousands of beaches – all perfect for relaxing and taking in the ocean air. You can also find unique beaches like the rugged, untouched nature of Mandalay Bay, the world’s whitest sand at Hyams Beach, the breathtaking sunsets over Cable Beach, and even secluded islands.
The Natural Wonders
Natural wonders can be found all over Australia and are perfect for those who love nature. One of the biggest and most fascinating is the Great Barrier Reef, which stretches more than 1,800 miles off the cost of Queensland and is home to 400 types of coral and 1,500 species of tropical fish. In addition, you’ll find The Pinnacles (30,000 year-old limestone formations), Uluru (a sacred sandstone monolith), The Twelve Apostles (towering limestone stacks shown above), and more.
The Lifestyle
With so much beauty in Australia, it’s not hard to figure out why the Australian lifestyle is one that’s laid-back, friendly, and outdoor-driven. From the time you arrive to the time you leave, you’ll feel welcome and enjoy the overall positive vibe. In our opinion, a trip to Australia is the perfect getaway for a busy lifestyle.
The Animals
It’s true – there are animals in the world that can only be found in Australia and some of them are downright fascinating. While animals like kangaroos, koalas, wombats, and wallabies are more well-known, you’ll also find things like the blue-ringed octopus, the echidna, the sugar glider, and even one of the most dangerous spiders in the world – the funnel-web spider.
The Rainforests
Who doesn’t want to explore ancient tropical rainforests? In Australia, you’ll find a variety of World Heritage-listed rainforests that are perfect for a day hike. North Queensland boasts rainforests of all five climates while in Tasmania, you’ll find cool temperate rainforests that are home to creatures found nowhere else in the world. For a unique experience, you can even head to Western Australia to discover spots of dry rainforest.
The Food
It’s not all Vegemite sandwiches in Australia. In fact, the country is known for delicious meat pies, lamingtons, sausage rolls, fish and chips, and of course – barbecue. No matter where you go, you’ll be treated to the unique flavors of the country (and the wine isn’t half bad, either!).
