It’s about that time of year – summer is fast approaching and you’re probably trying to decide where you want to take a summer vacation. If you’re looking for a beach destination out of the ordinary, our Newark Airport parking members have a few suggestions that are great for everyone:
Honolulu
Though you really can’t go wrong with any island in Hawaii, Oahu’s Honolulu is a great spot to hit this summer. With a lively art scene, beautiful teal waters, friendly locals, and plenty of delicious Hawaiian food, you can’t go wrong.
Veracruz
Instead of heading to the crowded beaches in Cozumel or Cancun, head southwest to Veracruz, Mexico. You’ll find beaches that are virtually tourist-free and lush with vegetation. After relaxing on the sand, head inland for some of the best seafood you’ll ever eat.
Cape Town
South Africa may not be the first place you think of when you think of beaches, but it’s worth a visit. With gorgeous mountains surrounding serene beaches, Cape Town gives you a whole different (and scenic) way to vacation.
St. Barts
You can’t go wrong with the islands of the Caribbean, but if you’re looking for fine dining, designer boutiques, beautiful mountains, and quiet, reserved beaches, head to St. Bart’s. And with villas, resorts, and local bungalows, you can customize your trip accordingly.
Tofino
This remote area on British Columbia’s Vancouver Island is a great choice for those who love to surf. With year-round swells, it’s considered Canada’s surf capital and is gaining in popularity. And if you love seafood, Tofino is the perfect place to expand your palate.
Norfolk
Though Norfolk, Virginia is known for its large military presence, the fact that it’s nestled between the Chesapeake Bay and the Atlantic Ocean makes it quite scenic. It’s also quite an affordable location and is bustling with arts and craft beer scenes.
Bermuda
From famous pink sand beaches to exclusive golf courses to high-end resorts, you’ll find luxury mixed with exoticism in Bermuda. Plus, the locals are incredibly welcoming and if you’re a shopper, the island is known for its great shopping.
Perth
Though Perth is the capital of Western Australia, it’s also one of the most remote cities on the continent. You’ll find plenty of opportunities for swimming, snorkeling, and surfing as well as great restaurants and beautiful walkable areas.
Seychelles
This 115-island nation of Seychelles off of Africa’s eastern shore is known for some of the world’s most beautiful white sand beaches and lavish lodgings. And because the area is made up of so many islands, you can easily island hop to experience as much as possible.
