Beginning in October, Singapore Airlines will launch a non-stop service from Singapore to Newark that will be considered the world’s longest flight. Travelers will be able to make the journey via one of the airline’s new, long-range aircrafts that will travel 9,500 miles over the course of 18 hours and 45 minutes.
The airline’s Airbus A350-900 ULR, (which stands for ultra-long range), is a double-aisle jet that carries more fuel than the standard A350-900 version and has a higher maximum take-off weight to accommodate the extra haul.
Singapore Airlines originally offered the Singapore-Newark route back in 2004, but had to cancel it in 2013 due to high oil prices. Now, with newer aircraft technology and more affordable fuel prices, Singapore Airlines is bringing the flight back.
Once the service launches, it will become the longest flight in the world. And if you’re interested in taking it, don’t forget to make your EWR parking reservation with Vista! We offer short-term and long-term parking.
