Take a Break from the Beach
It’s nearly spring, which means it’s time to start thinking about your summer vacation. Whether you’ve always done the same thing or you simply want to do something different, there are plenty of things to do to mix things up. Here are some suggestions from our Newark Airport parking staff:
Road Trip
Instead of making the destination your vacation, why not make the journey your vacation? This summer, plan a road trip – pick a starting a ending point, then find some great things to do along the way. Stop by a landmark, take a famous scenic road, stay in a historic hotel, and more. The possibilities are endless.
The Mountains
While everyone vacations at the beach, why not switch things up and head to the mountains? Rent out a cabin and go hiking, fishing, white water rafting, and more. In your down time, you can simply sit back and enjoy the view with your friends or family.
A National Park
National parks are underrated when it comes to summer vacations. With so many gorgeous options, including Yellowstone, Acadia, Glacier, Grand Canyon, and more, there’s a national park for everyone. Plus, national parks are a great place to camp and see a whole other side to nature and wildlife.
Bucket List Pick
Is there somewhere you’ve always wanted to go? Stop putting it off and make it this summer’s destination. Make a list of all the things you want to do in that area and check them all off while you’re there.
A Cruise
If you’ve never taken a cruise before, it’s a completely different kind of vacation. Book a cruise to the Bahamas, the Caribbean, Alaska, Europe, and more, and enjoy sunny beaches, great food and drinks, entertainment, a lively nightlife, daily activities, and meeting others. Give it a shot this summer.
Lake Trip
Skip the beach this year and head to a lake instead. You’ll find they’re much less crowded and much more serene. Plus, you can enjoy fishing, water skiing, boating, kayaking, and more in a beautiful, scenic area. Try heading to Lake Tahoe, the Finger Lakes, Lake Michigan, or another favorite.
A Staycation
Tight on money this year? You can still have a great vacation without going very far. Plan something fun around your area or take a day trip to the nearest city. You can even simply book a local hotel for a local “getaway” experience. Just get creative!
